Baking a cake

This was so much fun. Another recipe from High Five, but this time from scratch. Jack's favorite part was breaking the eggs. He even had to help me remember to buy the lemons at the store. When it was in the oven, he sat with his dad and watched it bake.





It was a snow day here, so we stayed home. Jack was very sick last night, but he's much better today.

His latest obsession is doing "mazes" in the tracing book. We finished the Kumon book, and started another one. It's fascinating to watch him go back and forth between holding the crayon in his fist and holding it with a more traditional pencil grasp. When it gets really tricky, he switches hands.
