Yesterday we made rice krispie treats, a macaroni necklace and worked on a digital slideshow. Today was library day.
Books we're reading right now:
Inside Your Outside: All about the human body
The Ant and the Elephant by Bill Peet
The Treasure by Uri Shulevitz
We went to the park today and saw a bright cardinal in the bare thicket, and a wild turkey. It's kind of shocking to see such a big bird roaming around, but they're becoming more common. We pondered what turkeys might eat. Turns out they eat nuts, seeds, and some plants. The other day, we saw a big water bird -- maybe a heron?-- it flew right by me, but it was too quick to identify.
Cornell Lab of Ornithology offers a very useful Bird Guide.

We're very lucky to live in a place where White & Blue Herons and Wild Turkeys are surprisingly common. Let's hope Jack and David keep a valid interest in the birds of the area. Luckily, Jack will have a video camera most of the time. ;)
