Jack said this to me three times tonight when I came home from meeting a friend for coffee.
Today was a typical day. We got off to a late start because John was supposed to work at 9 a.m. We all woke up in the same bed because Jack had a nightmare last night. John ended up sleeping diagonally across the foot of the bed.
After we dropped him at work, we went shopping for a coat for David. We ended up getting a snowsuit that makes him look like a Snow Baby.
After lunch, he watched some TV, then we went outside. Today was bright and windy, a perfect fall day. A great day for filling up a bag with "helicopters" while David napped in the stroller. Later we came back in, and Jack worked on a bead kit from his birthday party. In the end, he couldn't complete it enough to iron it all together. He just had lots of fun pouring them out and putting them back in the bowl.
When John came home, Jack shared with me some of the music patterns he learned in class last weekend. He sang them, then copied the sound on the piano.
Tonight while I was out, they played "chest." That usually means checkers, but I didn't get the details. Now Jack is having his before-bed snack. As soon as he's done, we'll do jammies and brush teeth, then read stories.
His favorite right now is Night of the Gargoyles by Eve Bunting, but I'm afraid that may be what gave him nightmares. We'll stick to Green Eggs and Ham and A Letter to Amy.
