On Friday we had an awesome playdate with Jack's friend, "E." (I've been avoiding mentioning his friends for privacy reasons, but they play a huge part in our lives. I'm using initials to protect the innocent.)
Jack said he wanted to have a campout in the yard at night with a fire and smores. He was happy to settle for setting up a tent in his room during the day, as long as there were still smores.
So we invited his friend over, set up the igloo tent (which is starting to show its age), and turned out the lights. We were lucky to have a dreary day, so it was actually pretty dark in there. They played with flashlights and every light-up toy they could get. Then we made smores with marshmallow fluff and chocolate chips. The idea was to assemble them, wrap them in foil and bake them in the toaster oven-- 3 points each as per the recipe, thank you very much weight watchers! They never made it that far, though. We ate up our smores un-toasted, and then resorted to eating chocolate chips from the bowl.
The building frenzy continues in our house. Now it's not only legos, but also the wooden blocks in his room. He set up the train tracks, and he makes tall buildings with the blocks. He says that little people can go up the elevators in the buildings, then jump off the top with a parachute to land safely.
