"When David grows up he can be my dog!"

Is Jack learning anything from "Go, Diego, Go!"? Today he told me that crocodiles eat clams and they eat rocks to break up the shells in their stomach. Huh? Is that true?! Probably not. He chose a book on walruses at the library, and they eat shellfish, which is how the topic arose.






Speaking of books, here are a couple of our current favorites: Every Friday and The Birthday Fish by Dan Yaccarino, Goodnight Lulu by Paulette Bogan.




















For his birthday, Jack got a set of big-kid Legos. This is one of his first creations.












On Sunday, we went to church and came home to play with his birthday toys some more. Monday morning, we bought a birthday card for Granny in Virginia. Jack wrote a message, and told me what it said, then we went to the post office and mailed it. After that, we went to the bank to deposit most of his birthday money into his savings account. He was very proud to hand the money to the cashier, but he didn't really understand why we were giving it to her. At the rate of interest we're getting, the best explanation I can give is that it's safer than the market these days.

After errands, we went to the library. Jack did a great job participating in class, and he seemed to really enjoy the books. On the other hand, he shocked the group by announcing that he doesn't share, because he doesn't know how. Andrea, unfazed, said "that must be challenging!"
